[QUOTE=waterdog101;508191]will a republican, ever be elected for President/QUOTE]

You need to OPEN the link first, and the post the link.

Lots of times your links are to yahoo mail and not the actual article.

To answer your question........it depends. If folks believe that the social programs we're creating are actually GOOD for the country..maybe.

I think folks will get a RUDE awakening in 2015 when the real costs of ACA are known. I believe those UNION members that will start having to pay for their magic health care will be a swing vote.

If RTW states recent RTW states that went Blue improve economically, they may swing.

LOTS of stuff in play for 2016. Personally, I don't think the up and coming crop of Republicans can get it done. I'd LOVE to see a less than CRAZY conservative republican can bring some moderate democrats to our side. THAT is the only way

Finally.......Remember this. Obama and the Black vote is BIG. I don't think Biden will get it, and I don't think Hillary will get it. Another black man, maybe. AND McCain got more votes than Romney.....that says VOLUMES about who didn't vote for Romney the last time around.

    put on your aluminum hat.

Unions again? Do you believe any numbers that the government puts out. Less than 12% of american workers are organizied. -6% of industrial workers are organized. THE TAIL DOES NOT WAG THE DOG. Welcome to the new world,if you insist on blaming unions for our woes, your nuts. Do you look under the bed at night, or watch the closet doors all night. That boogy man has flown the coop. You are a parrot of the Koch brothers and Grover Norquist. get an original idea of your own.

Well the RTW states I'm talking about went Blue.......had they went RED, Obama Loses, and Romney Wins. Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin.

ALL 3 have recently voted on RTW initiatives.

It is getting harder now that more than 50% of the population pays no taxes at all. When you get a majority of people with no vested interest in the "system" there is a potential for problems.

Ok if you dont pay taxes, you shouldn't be able to vote? Fine, no jury duty, or other responsibilitys a citizen id at times is almost ogligated to perform. I keep harping about the loss of democracy in this country. rule by the few, oligarchy. The rising power of special interest groups is speeding that process. Hell if you dont pay taxes, just rights do you legaly have? There will be folks asking that question.

You have thrown out oligarchy a few times......but I think you are wrong.

    oligarchy noun (Concise Encyclopedia)

Rule by the few, often seen as having self-serving ends. Aristotle used the term pejoratively for unjust rule by bad men, contrasting oligarchy with rule by an aristocracy. Most classic oligarchies have resulted when governing elites were recruited exclusively from a ruling class, which tends to exercise power in its own interest. The term is considered outmoded today because “few” conveys no information about the nature of the ruling group.

Oligarchy (from Greek ὀλιγαρχία (oligarkhía); from ὀλίγος (olígos), meaning "few", and ἄρχω (archo), meaning "to rule or to command")[1][2][3] is a form of power structure in which power effectively rests with a small number of people. These people could be distinguished by royalty, wealth, family ties, education, corporate, or military control. Such states are often controlled by a few prominent families who pass their influence from one generation to the next

While some of the tenants of an oligarchy "may" exist in our system, we still vote, every 4 years, and we have quite a few folks who have been elected who were not from an elitist ruling class. Our current president for example, and Bill Clinton is another example. Also, nearly 1/2 of the senate and congress were considered "working" folk before the chose to run for office.

So, while there may be some similarities, there are significantly more differences.

SO, please stop calling what we have incorrectly as an oligarchy.

I stand by my point of view.

Yes we vote every four years. But do we get the right results, or the results of special interest groups. I know you've heard of norquist, and the koch brothers, who support right wing conservative candidates[they have that right], and the NRA who support an interest group. Big money talks louder and more often, and they pick candidates that support theviews of the hand that feeds them. You mention clinton and nobahma, two of the most reviled presidents of current times. Why was and is that?

Do, do you think we're always destined to vote people into office from that "elite" class.

I don't. Obama is a clear example. While the puppet masters, are in control to some extent, I do believe our system, even with some holes is the best in the world.......the ABSOLUTE BEST.

Again, I do think there is some elitism, but when you get to local gubment, that is all but eliminated. AND we all know a crap ton of decisions are made at the state level.

I can understand where you are coming from, but I'm not sure it fits.

    vote

Yes state and local elections are still democratic. I believe that most people who run for an office are truthfull, and try to do what they said they were going to try to do.A lot of offices have no or little pay, and some of them are just jokes, like the jailer in countys that have no jail. But after a few terms in office, many of them have changed from servant to overlord.

EVER? Yes of course. But in 2016? Not unless the Republicans listen to Bobby Jindal and those like him, and quit being the "party of stupid."
