Honestly I like Spoons and Silver Buddys for deep rivers. You can cast them forever fish them however you like and you can fish them at any depth.

What is the best spoon to fish on Barkley and Ky lakes? What kind of setup do you use and how do you fish it? Thanks in advance!

Lake Fork or Strike Kings flutter spoons....Rip it up off the bottom and let it fall, they let you know it when they hit it....I throw it on a 7'4H Cumara with 65lb braid and a Curado E7 to take up slack quick

If you can get a big Daredevil all silver that is a good bet. Like the previous guy said rip it and let it fall. Mix up the rips. So lake trout spoons work well but they are light!

Thanks for the information on spoons. Never threw one but I keep hearing a lot of people talk about them.

You can fish a spoon just like a jerkbait! To answer any other ways to fish it you can get creative just like you would with any other lure. Find the retrieve they want. Pop, pop, pop, drop is my favorite. Sexy spoons are nice but expensive. Trust me all you need is the flash!

Do you need to use a O-ring or swivel with a spoon. And how is the hit, will you hook into them when you make your next jerk or what?

Typically you feel them hit and youll just reel down and set. Sometimes theyll just catch it on the fall and your next rip will hook em. And yes the sexy spoons are pricey but theyre good. Ive started throwing the lake fork spoons

I've had alot of people persuade me to the spoons...know a few that keep it as a money bait.....myself, i've tried and tried to throw them....sometimes under the wrong conditions....but just can't seem to build any confidence with them.....i think i get a little ansty because i usually go to it after slinging a crankbait for hours and im already in that crankin mode.........any suggestions on retrieval methods aside from the rip n' sink?
