    Uk basketball

If theres a nba player wearing blue today im yet to see him. They keep playing like this and their draft stock will fall rapidly. I see atleast one and maybe two of wcs, goodwin, or poythress being forced to come back. Gonna be a long rest of the season

Cut out the Heart and the body will die. Nerlens was the obvious Heart and Soul of this team. Goodwin and Poythruss will go and get drafted later than earlier projections for no other reason than they THINK that are too good to ride the bench and that is where they will be next year. WCS will be back because he is not good enough to get drafted and has no choice but to be a backup next year. Any tourneys that take teams on NAME on the front of the jersey because the NIT won't be calling either?

I never heard of a one man TEAM. You can take away any one player on the VILLE and they still beat tennessee. All I heard last year was the recruiting class this year? Yeah right, all I hear now is next year.

The ville is a better team than Ky with Nerlens, so really not a good comparison. All year long Nerlens was the only consistent player that brought it each and every game. This team was a one man team and you are delirious if you think otherwise. Poythruss and Goodwin are bust, overrated and can't wait to get to the NBA. as far as this year and next year goes, bunch of Freshmen Elite 8, then bunch of Freshnen Final Four, then bunch of Freshmen NCAA Title, now bunch of Freshman that won't make the NIT. 4 years with a bunch of Freshman, Elite 8, Final 4, Title and this year, I will take those 4 years again and again. Next years incoming class is already stacked and if Randle signs then they can engrave Kentucky on the 2014 Title and the process will continue

I don't watch ball games, but I have to say this. I listen to this radio station where this DJ can't see no wrong in UK. I heard him say the only way UK could get beat, is they would beat themself, dumbest excuse for losing I ever heard.

That's life in a one-and-done system with Cal, boys. You're going to have years with really special assemblies of talent and character that dominate. Then, you're going to have other years that fall short...well short...because of the group of kids you gambled on.

    No gambler wins every hand.

Anybody that thinks a handful of 17-18 year old kids that have been told how great they are for the previous decade, have played against virtually no defense and virtually no competition, and already have lists of stuff scribbled out on notebook paper that they are going to buy with their first NBA checks isn't a gamble...is fooling themselves.

Nobody could bring in complete classes of new freshmen every year and always have a special group. Cal can come as close as anybody to doing it, but even he can't pull it off every year.

This is one of those years.

Next year is slated to be, quite possibly, the highest rated recruiting class in history...but until we see them on the court in blue and white, your prediction is as good as my guess on next year.

May be special, may be a dud...but we'll enjoy the ride. Oh, how quickly we forget the latter Tubby Years, the Billy G experiment...and get spoiled to being top dog in the pack after a couple with Cal.

It will be interesting if UK can put something "special" together again next year. They will have some serious talent and some reasonable experience. Put the two together and who knows.

I think it really depends on if they are WILLING to play together as they were last year, and WILLING to work in the UK system. If they are, I suspect they will be very good, and a contender......if not, well they will still be a very good team.

    Later,

    Geo

Guard play is huge in the College game. This year the Cats had no Guard play that was any good. Harrow out to start so Archie is playing the point, then Harrow plays and it just was not a good set of guards with he and Archie. One thing about next years stud class coming in is the Harrison Twins will be the starting backcourt and they have no problem playing together.

Just a wild wishful thought. What are the chances Nerlens comes back for one more year to strengthen the knee before the NBA. A 35 game College schedule is much better than an 82 game NBA season recovering from the ACL. He would get all the care and rehab thru UK. No 7-10 game road trips. Basically he would have a full year playing on it before the NBA. Just a thought.

Problem is the NBA drafts on potential, not mature talent. I would say the only key player back for UK next year is Wiltjer.

Never more a true statement supported by the fact that WCS is projected to be drafted at 10. Here is a 7 footer that can't hit the rim with a jump hook from 5 feet. Archie and Alex are at 19 and 20. There are some good players behind them from teams that will make deep runs in the Big Dance. People like Oladipo from IU and Burke from Michigan could move up and bump A and A out of the first round guarantee money. The injury to Nerlens flat out will put the spotlight on WCS, A and A to see if they can play. These 3 play up to their supposed talent could help hold par or move up, but play like they have been and could have the bottom drop out of it.

Tim is right but if the NBA takes Polythress, Goodwin or Harrow they are going to be sorry. I'm not hatin but stating facts here, those three are about as ready for the NBA as Flylie is....They are not emotionally ready, maturity level is still at a young tennager status and quite frankly they aren't that good. Will they be.....maybe, but right now NO WAY.

Cauley Stein is big and that it, he's slow, real slow and has NO defense. Can't make free throws and offense is weak at best. Potential................maybe down the road but I can't see any of those guys making it in the league right now...NO WAY.
