I don't watch ball games, but I have to say this. I listen to this radio station where this DJ can't see no wrong in UK. I heard him say the only way UK could get beat, is they would beat themself, dumbest excuse for losing I ever heard.

That's life in a one-and-done system with Cal, boys. You're going to have years with really special assemblies of talent and character that dominate. Then, you're going to have other years that fall short...well short...because of the group of kids you gambled on.
No gambler wins every hand.
Anybody that thinks a handful of 17-18 year old kids that have been told how great they are for the previous decade, have played against virtually no defense and virtually no competition, and already have lists of stuff scribbled out on notebook paper that they are going to buy with their first NBA checks isn't a gamble...is fooling themselves.
Nobody could bring in complete classes of new freshmen every year and always have a special group. Cal can come as close as anybody to doing it, but even he can't pull it off every year.
This is one of those years.
Next year is slated to be, quite possibly, the highest rated recruiting class in history...but until we see them on the court in blue and white, your prediction is as good as my guess on next year.
May be special, may be a dud...but we'll enjoy the ride. Oh, how quickly we forget the latter Tubby Years, the Billy G experiment...and get spoiled to being top dog in the pack after a couple with Cal.
It will be interesting if UK can put something "special" together again next year. They will have some serious talent and some reasonable experience. Put the two together and who knows.
I think it really depends on if they are WILLING to play together as they were last year, and WILLING to work in the UK system. If they are, I suspect they will be very good, and a contender......if not, well they will still be a very good team.

Guard play is huge in the College game. This year the Cats had no Guard play that was any good. Harrow out to start so Archie is playing the point, then Harrow plays and it just was not a good set of guards with he and Archie. One thing about next years stud class coming in is the Harrison Twins will be the starting backcourt and they have no problem playing together.
Just a wild wishful thought. What are the chances Nerlens comes back for one more year to strengthen the knee before the NBA. A 35 game College schedule is much better than an 82 game NBA season recovering from the ACL. He would get all the care and rehab thru UK. No 7-10 game road trips. Basically he would have a full year playing on it before the NBA. Just a thought.
