There were Crappie in Jacobson Park Lake ... in years past ... so I see no reason why there aren't some still there.
Minnows or jigs would be what I'd be using for the Crappie. There are several places that have some wood cover, close to the bank, that might be worth a try around spawning time (~ mid April) ... and they are scattered all around the lake.
You can launch your jonboat at the ramp for a $3 fee ... but it cannot have a gas powered motor on it.
Jacobson Park Lake is now a FINs lake :
KDFWR - News Release ... and has already received a stocking of 8000 Rainbow Trout, and will receive another 4000 on Mar 25th. It is also due for a stocking of 2300 Channel Catfish on Mar 7th.
You will need a Trout Stamp (license) to KEEP any Trout that you catch ... but, no Trout Stamp is necessary if you release them. The creel limits, for the species involved, are posted around the lake. There are also some boxes with postage paid mailer envelopes & pliers ... for the removal & mailing in of tags (from tagged Trout or Catfish). In return for sending in those tags, you will receive a pewter pin (likeness of the species caught) & be entered into a monthly drawing for cash prizes.
(NOTE: some fish have two tags, but only one of the tags can be used ... KDFWR records will show when one of those tags has been submitted, and no pin or prize entry will be given out for the other one)
You can look back a few pages & find some threads about fishing at Jacobson (for Trout) ... and find more info, and what the Trout have been caught on.
... luck2ya !!
