I thought Tennessee requires a SS number? A couple of years ago I got one from there and I remember having to use my SS number. Are they asking for both? Maybe they mean to be asking for SS number and some goofball messed up the wording.

    Good luck

They are asking for either...Or. I will NOT give my SS# to a website, that will NEVER happen.

I agree, I hate doing it also. Here in Kentucky they require your SS number so there really is not much choice if you want a fishing or hunting license. I figure though that on a secure government site it is likely as safe as it is already at places like banks, IRS etc. Or at least I try and tell myself that

I believe Kentucky requires the SS number because they weed out dead beat dad's this way. You don't pay your child support you don't hunt or fish.

That is what I heard also. It still kind of irks me that the rest of us are forced to put ourselves at higher risk of identity theft because of the actions of others.

I don't worry a lot about identity theft. I had my identity stolen once and two weeks later the guy called me complaining because his credit score dropped 70 points.

In all honesty, I would worry more about buying my license at the sporting goods store than I would giving my SS out online to a government web site like the TWRA.

I actually did laugh out loud...but I tend to talk to myself a bit these days too. Keeps me company. LOL I'm not doing both sides of the conversation yet which is good. Its mostly directed at things like rusty screws and lawnmowers and boats that won't start. They apparently all have the same name.

A fishing and hunting liscense, or lack there of, will not deter deadbeats from hunting or fishing. I know this because I have a DEADBEAT DAUGHTER!!! I have had custody of my 2 yr old granddaughter since August. My DEADBEAT DAUGHTER is $1400 behind in child support and counting, not working, running with the wrong crowd stealing, drinking, drugs and such. Instead of doing the 26 point case plan that Social Services setup in order for her to get the absolute prettiest little girl back. Go thru my Facebook page to my wife's page and you will see tons of pictures of her. If a DEADBEAT PARENT won't get off her lazy pathetic azz and do what it takes to get custody of their Daughter back then a little thing like a Liscense won't stop them from hunting and fishing.

April court date is set and state is recommending Permant Full Custody to me. Hard line to walk trying to take care of 2 year old and 24 year old at same time. Thing is 2 yr old cant take care of herself or make decision for herself, 24 yr old can. After she wished that I was dead and hoped I died the next time I was in the hospital, I turned my back on my Daughter and put full attention to raising Grandbaby. Drugs are a powerful thing that causes smart people to do stupid stuff. These drugs are going to cost my Daughter her child. Sad to say but true
