    Spinning rod shopping help

Hey guys, I'm in the market for a few more spinning rods. I've currently got a Abu vendetta and 2 quantum alliances. I only use 1 piece rods, and I know that those $200 rods are pretty darn good but I just cannot get myself to shell out that kind of dough for a rod. I'd love to hear what y'all veteran anglers would recommend for less than $100. I'm not an ugly stik fan at all

    Thanks guys!

    Nate

I don't use just one maker of rod. I've got a mish mash of Falcon,St Croixs, Diawa V, Mitchel, Quatum. But I did just purchase two Pfluger rods and reels. President models 7' medium action with 10 bearing president reels. they were half off at Mejier so for 40 bucks a peice if I don't like them I can always use them for brim.

St Croix here. Anything else feels like an ugly stick.

    Shimano

I've tried them all, and while I love St. Croix, once they did away with the lifetime warranty on their lower end stuff and started making them in Mexico I switched to Shimano and haven't looked back. True, they also make their rods outside of the US, as do most (about all blanks are made in China or Korea) but their warranty and service are fanstastic.
Whenever I've had a rod break, always my fault, I send it back to them in California, they send me a new one. No delay, no questions asked. I have also had this happen with spinning reels. Sent in a Sahara that I dropped and broke the bail, asked for a repair estimate and for them to clean/lube as well. Received a new version of the same reel instead. The one I'd sent was at least 5 years old and worn as hell.

In the Shimano Spinning rods, I like the Clarus, Compre and I have one Crucial that I really love. I'd like to try the Cumara but they're out of my price range. Nothing lacking in the Compre or Crucial series from what I can feel though.

Ill have to second shimano. I have a cumara and two crucials and couldnt be any happier. Their warranty can't be beat and the lower end rods are also very good for the money. Look around on the internet and you can probably pick up a lightly used crucial in the $75-100 range. You wont be dissapointed

I agree with parker. I got a St. Croix Legend Elite rod for my birthday last year. I'd recommend one of those. It's the best rod I've ever owned.

Thanks for the input fellas. St.Croix makes some sweet rods but you've gotta pay for them! I've been eye balling a carrot stick at my local shop for $79, just haven't pulled the trigger.
