Whats a good line for top water frogging? braid, flro, mono
I've never used one but most people use braid. Flourocarbon wouldn't be a good idea because it sinks.
generally the pros use braid when they are setting the hook, when they can get away with it. retrieving lures like rattle traps requires line that will stretch, so don't use braid as it has no stretch. Also, rods snap often when setting the hook with braid, something to consider if you don't like buying rods.
I use mono. #17-#20 pound. I think it casts better and I don't mind the stretch at all.
