Really, what type of guy uses this forum from time to time and for what reasons? One could answer this question by using the search application on this forum to find most anything because most everything has been discussed at some point. So why do some of us find ourselves clicking on what's the latest in the thoughts of our fellow sportsmen? It could be termed "obsessive compulsive behavior", but I think it so much more than that.
As fishermen, it's our nature we are inquisitive and obsessive. Daily, we seek all types of answers, so why would one think it would be any different for a fisherman? The quest to find answers and information has been going on from the beginning of time. These questions and quests for information were once firmly rooted in philosophy, but with advances in technology and understanding in how it all works, we are now just beginning to crack the secrets of a fish's mind, but behind these advances there will be only more questions.
We seek not only to define the meaning of our lives by accepting, whether consciously or unconsciously, this desire for knowledge, but also to understand the reason for almost everything that happens in the course of each day. Why, not only drives everything we do, but also affects our emotional reactions to everything that happens to us. The negative impact of not knowing why things are done the way they are can be so extreme for some people that explaining our thinking to others actually represents an opportunity to contribute to their well-being. This is why we click on the fishing reports, daily reports and lake condtions...it's for our daily well-being.
All kidding aside, I trully have enjoyed reading the articles on fishing, the forum's daily posts, the fishing reports and all the good things that happen to fellow members of the forum. I have learned so much and received so much good information through the years that has helped my fishing. Thanks to this forum and everyone who loves to fish. Hope everyone has a great year on the water. Bonefish
