Quetico Fishing.

Many of you know that I go to Quetico every year. When my youngest daughter turned 12, I started taking her. She's been on 7 trips with me, and is going this summer again. She simply LOVES going.

A few years ago, on her second trip to Quetico, we were having fantastic luck with the smallie and largmouth bass in Quetico, but had not caught a single walleye. My daughter insisted that smallies were too pretty to take back and eat, so if we were going to eat fish, we had to catch walleye.

The smallie action was so good, no one wanted to move to deeper waters, and target the walleye. Finally she got to a point where she was going to catch walleye or catch nothing. She started throwing off the other side of the canoe in 30-40 ft versus the 10-20 ft we were fishing for smallies.

I told her she was going to have a hard time catching walleyes, but she just gave me a look like "year RIGHT".

She threw her smoke red/flake tube out the deep side, waited for it it hit the bottom and then started slowly reeling, like a swimbait. BOOM.......I was sure it was a northern, but up came a quality eater walleye.

She did this for the next 30 minutes and ended up catching 5 or 6 quality, EATER sized walleye.

Yet another story that I will cherish forever.
