There are 330 million people in the usa and not every one of them can save like some and I just cant help it if I feel like I can pay a little more to help so be it. I cant bring myself to just say the hell with everyone less fortunate than me!
I agree in that I feel the same way about helping others. The difference is I believe in just that, people helping other people. The government has proven itself to be highly inefficient at helping those truly in need. IHMO it it much more efficient and reliable for people to help directly, or through a good charity or local church.

It was never the responsibility or the purpose of our government to take care of individuals, and history has taught us that no matter how much money the government has thrown at poverty the problem has only expanded.

Let me tell you a little story of a lady that I go to church with. She has been sick for a while now and she has medicare and her only source of income is SS. She told me this morning after she paid all her bills and what she could to doctors she had six dollars left
Let me ask you an honest question. Which do your truly believe would help this women more, the people of your church giving of their love, time and money directly to her, or the the people of your church each just paying a little higher taxes to the government?
