To be fair, this construction was proposed and submitted for approval by Gen. John Kelly, the Commaner of Southcom, the higher HQs for Gitmo.
My question is why didn't Obama:
a. Follow thru on his promise to close the facility.
b. Direct DOD to not do this.
c. And, ask the general to reconsider and remove the request.
I understand the general wanting to make accommmodations suitable and decent for th 848 soldiers stationed there, but only about 1/5 of the money is for buildings for the guards, and troops, the balance is for the bad guys. So get the troops decent places to work, eat, sleep, and play and save $120 milllion on the guys that are our enemies. If they really want to starve themsleves to death, just be sure we have witnesses each time a meal is offered and refused.
