Good luck... BFL is down at Cumberland this Saturday.
If I were down there this weekend I would be looking for rocky points. Jerkbaits and slow rolled spinnerbaits for smallies and spots. About an hour before dark I would be heading back into the creeks and finding a few red clay banks to slow roll a bucktail or deep diver (shad colored) for stripers.

Katie:
Looking forward to the report of how you and your grandfather did on Cumberland this weekend.
Caught a smallmouth down there Saturday hanging close to the bluffs in small pockets on a 3 inch big hammer swimbait in bay smelt.
The water was cold on the main lake still in the low 50s. Me and my partner had a good day in the KBF qualifier. We caught our fish in large pockets or small creeks off the main lake. We stayed out of the major creeks. I had a smallie or 19 that went over 4 and a couple largemouth that were about 17in. Total was just over 9lbs. My partner had a few keeper spots. We also had several short smallies that were between 15-18 and some smaller spots and smallies that we didnt measure. Im sure the major creeks are warmer but we stayed out of them due to the pressure there was a BFL on saturday and a big High School Regional on sunday as well.
For what its worth in practice my partner tried flipping the trash and flooded stuff but only caught small fish and it was really slow. They just had not moved into it on sunday where we fished.
