Herrington Lake and Dix river

Fished for 3 hrs on Herrington down towards dam Saturday. Surf temp 51 warming to almost 53F on main lake. No luck for hybrids or bass. No sign of any fish near banks. Shad were dying and coming to surface. Why? nothing chasing or bothering the schools of shad.

Dix- fished from bank from 3 til 6pm and caught 4 10" bass. no whites. didnt talk to anybody that had caught a white. water apparently way down from last weekend when they caught whites.

Had the same luck on Herrington today. Water is turning over and a 15-25 mph wind made wishing a shaky head really really difficult. Had no luck throwing both a deep and shallow crank as well. Fished places from the back of Cane Run all the way up to the Dam. Water temp was anywhere from 53-57 (warming as the day went on). Like was stated earlier, lots and lots of dead shad. Hopefully once the lake color goes back to normal fishing will get a lot better (fingers crossed anyways).

Had lots of good bait no bites will never give up the ramps at the river looked awful
