And now that the realtor adn us were on the same page. I would walk in a house pull out the tape measure in the garage and it was yea or ney on lookign at the rest of the house.. Sure some of the houses had nicer options but we found a house with a 30 ft deep 2 car garage with a one acre lot and good neighbors so we bought it. But I just told the realtor if the boat wouldnt fit we wasnt buying the house cause i aint keeping my boat outside all the time.
A friend of mine's home is my dream come true. It's a Rancher, and the back half of the house sits over his 2 lane 45 foot long in ground garage with garage doors on both sides, and driveway access in and out both sides. He keeps his boat hooked up and just drives in and parks it, then drops the doors. When its time to go again, he's out the other side and on his way. In the mean while, one full lane is open to his wifes car and the little 2 door Kia he runs to work and back with.

Worst thing that has happened to us, wife and I found a perfect brick rancher, brand new, great price in the $180K range. But according to the HOA, to house our old pontoon boat, we'd have had to build a brick garage adding another $40-50K to the total cost. To mkae that happened, for the first 4 years liveing there we'd have had to live in the garage and rent the house out to make the payments :-) For whatever reason, the wife didn't warm up to that concept.
