I have not seen the video that they say shows him placing the bomb at the scene. I suspect that's not being show for a reason. But I see what you are saying. All we really know is what the news media is telling us!
I've seen pictures of the two guys in the crowd walking around with a back pack on their backs. Both of them with backpacks. And then I've seen another picture of suspect #2 the younger 19 yo without a back pack. That is the only proof that I've seen so far.
They Watertown Police Chief said in an interview with MSNBC that the younger brother drove over his older brother in the street and dragged him for a ways. At the time the Chief said that three of his police officers had the older brother face down in the street and were trying to handcuff him when the younger brother drove at them in the hijacked car (SUV) and tried to run over the police officers. The cheif said that the three officers dove out of the way and that the car hit the older brother and ran over him dragging him for yards. I would like to see the autopsy report on the older brother or suspect #1 to see if he died from being run over or from bullets wounds. The also said that before suspect #1 was run over that he got out of the vehicle and walked towards the police and was firing at the police with his weapon until he ran out of bullets. That's when he was tackled by the police and was laying face down in the street. I just heard this today. Saturday. All this is from the interview with the water town police chief on MSNBC today.
The younger brother was hit in this initial fire fight with the watertown police and then drove off and bailed out of the vehicle and ran on foot and then hid in the boat that night and all day until he was discovered by the owner of the boat.
But you are right. All this is based on statements by the police and news media. Note: that the police kept the news media at a distance during most of these events. So we are basically hearing the police side of the story.
