Dale Hollow 4/3-4/9

Got back from my 2nd trip of the month,,,fishing was still pretty sad! The water temps flew up over the 2 last week,,got to 64 in places,,shad moved in finally
I caught 1 19in smallie which isn`t good,,,think the SM fish kill last yr was worst then i thought but the LM was up shollow caught alot of 15-17 inchers on whaite flukes up in 2ft or less of water..Caught 1 20 in 4lb Lm The crappie was biting pretty good too...people bring in alot of them,,,I got lucky and caught a 17 incher..my biggest ever..but lake was in good shape but this may be my last yr for going unless the fishing gets better..may start back to Cumberland

i smallmouth in a week???? wow. last i was there in jan, i also caught a nice bag of largemouth. over 20 lb bag the first day. BUT, we also got on some decent smallies too. but not what im used to. only about 6-7 in a day , which aint bad.

Plan on going to Dale Hollow the first of the week and maybe fish a couple of days. If anyone has got any reports sure would like to here them and hopefully they are good reports. I fished it about 2 or 3 weeks ago and it was awful, could not get a bite on anything or anywhere. I love to fish Dale but I am like you Onemorecast56, if the fishing doesn`t start getting better I am also thinking about traveling back to Cumberland and give it a try. I really think something has happen to the Dale Hollow lake though because I have been looking at some of the photos that some of the guides show and unless I am over looking them I do not see any late pictures (2012) (2013) of some good smallmouth fish being taken. Anyways, might just be a mind thing too and Monday and Tuesday hopefully will prove that to be true.
