Barren River advice

Thanks guys. I just don't wanna run somewhere and hit something. I'm insured, but couldn't find a replacement with what I've got in my current setup. LOL

Black and Blue..... Sounds like a stained lake. Never been on it or really even seen it, so, we'll see how it goes. I'll write a full fishing report Monday on my findings.... which probably won't be much.

Not really stained but that's the colors we caught em on in the early morning the conditions changed about every 30 min we went through our whole line of baits and black and blue was the most productive hope you do good there.

Three old roadbeds I can think of off the top of my head that I would be concerned about. On the main lake south of the state ramp before you get to 31-e. Peter creek just past the state park marina. And up near Brown's Ford.

Not sure what the lake is at but the cut through to the Narrows can be deceiving. And the island nearest Bailey's Point. The area between there can get shallow quick.

Again not sure what the lake level is at but I would imagine there is plenty of junk in the water with the big rain we got a few days ago.

i will be fishing barren sat just wondering if the largemouths are on the bed yet and what type banks are most productive now any info would be helpful .

I fished Barren Sunday. The lake was 7' over summer pool and there were floaters everywhere. We fished main lake points and had good success, throwing shaky heads with worms right up on the bank and dragging them off. We caught several fish in the slot and 6 over 15". It was the first time I'd ever even seen the lake, so I was pretty satisfied with my limit of fish that weighed 9.63 lbs. Not a huge sack of fish, but good enough for 2nd in our tournament. Water was 62 degrees on the main lake, water color was stained, but 2-3 ft. of visibility. We caught them from right up on the bank out to 20 ft. deep. Trash was all over the lake them, but now it's up more so be careful out there!

*only 1 bass that we caught all day had a bloody tail and it was a just barely bloody. A couple of fish had crawfish in their mouth.

A bud and I fished their yesterday. We actually did better than we thought we would b/c of all the rain. We found one bank that had a couple of bloody tailed fish. They hit a variety of baits. As far as safety. There was a few logs floating. But as long as you pay attention you will be fine.

water is up at least 8 ft over summer pool, a lot of debris floating, most of it is small. Beaver creek is muddy around 31 bridge,peter creek is stained but not bad,walnut creek is stained, some of the ramps are littered due to high water, most turn ins at the bottom of the ramps are under water.
