Looking for help for a soldier

    Hello Kentucky Anglers,
My name is John Watts. My wife and I are owners of C.A.S.T. (Couples Association of Sport Tournaments) we are a couples bass fishing organization in Texas. We have been in business for over 28 years. You can verify who we are just by logging on to www.fishcast.com. I also spend a great deal of time on the Texas Fishing Forum (TFF). My handle on the forum is C.A.S.T.

I am contacting any one of you to ask a favor. My nephew is stationed at Ft. Knox. He has spent several tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He has been texting and e-mailing me asking for information about fishing. He does not have much experience as an angler, he is from Nebraska originally. He wants to learn about fishing but he's not even sure what kind of fish he wants to catch.

I have taken many soldiers fishing here in Texas via the Take a Soldier Fishing program and other such events. I'm hoping one of you would consider contacting my nephew and take him fishing somewhere near Ft. Knox or where you live? I could give him advice and information for years and he still would not learn as much as he would from fishing one day with someone who can put him in a boat or even on a fish or two.

Please feel free to contact me anytime. I will be glad to let my nephew know a fellow angler in Kentucky is interested in taking a combat veteran fishing. He is not aware I have made this request. I didn't want to give him expectations that may come together. Maybe one of you know someone dependable who may be able to take him.

    Thank you for your time.

Thumbs up Thank you to Kentucky Anglers

I want to thank those folks in Kentucky who responded to this request to take my nephew Jeff fishing near Ft. Knox. He has already been on a trip with a local angler and once with a licensed bass guide. The men and women of Kentucky have been true to the brotherhood of anglers.

Jeff will be deploy once again to Afghanistan soon leaving a wife and child at home. I cannot say how grateful I am knowing the U.S. has soldiers who "volunteer" to put themselves in harms way for our freedom and defense. The willingness to simply take any one of these young people on a fishing trip makes you a hero in my book.

Thank you and may God Bless You and Your Family!
