I will be down in Destin for a week and a half in mid June. If you are down there in that time I can take you out. I do go out though and fish for red snapper and grouper not in shore. We go 14-16 miles out and fish in 75-90' of water. I have Gloomis rods so its not like using a broom handle but they are heavier rods than you are used to and I promise you it is one heck of a fight. They will wear you out and maybe make you holler for momma but I can promise you it is a lot of fun. JUSTINHALL, That really sounds good but I am going to be there the last week of May or I would without a doubt love to go out with you and catch fish like that!
I think I have misinterpreted the bottom fishing because the only charter I have ever been on is the large boat with about 100 people on board were the poles are stiff and as soon as you start catching fish they ring the bell to move.
Let me ask, do most of the small charters use lighter tackle like you are talking about and stay on the fish?
