I am lookin at goin down to hendricks creek a few days around the 15th. Have not fish it in 3 years though and never in may.

Used to go down every year in late march or april and did pretty well most trips. From what i've been reading its looks like the

fishing has gotten tougher over the last few years! I'm not looking for for your fishing spot, just wondering what to expect. like

water temp, spawning phase etc. Any help would be appreciated!

was there this weekend , got soaked, fished in the wolf river area, did ok on smallies did not have any overs but some slots. all smallies came on a swim bait. lots of largemouth were caught.i caught mine on a tube and spinner bait , some others told me a frog and lizard, be careful running there are some logs to hit.

I would recommend going to smalljaw.com . Great information on that board. I did not fish this past weekend, but all reports are pointing towards improved fishing. It was tough prior to last weekend. I fished every weekend for four weeks with limited smallmouth action. LM are hitting in the very backs of creeks (I was using a creature bait). Numbers are down, but still some beautiful fish to be caught on a stunning lake!

Water is up and they are seeing fish in both phases, spawn and post spawn. Depends on the area of the lake. Upper in is typically ahead of lower end.
