Reply With QuoteInstall it instead. If you don't have water pressure it will overheat & you've had the lick anyway. 90% of outboards have them installed & do not run temp gauges. A water pressure gauge will let you know when pressure drops from something like an ice bag getting over water intakes while running & keep you from destroying your powerhead. It will also let you know when engine is mounted to high & your not getting sufficient water pressure to keep the engine cool & will also let you know if you water pump is getting weak by the reduced pressure reading. Way better than a temperature gauge by far.
