    Geo is right, it's really hard to get good seafood this far from the ocean (I think that's why so many people around here say they don't like seafood). And if that really is raw striper, I'd want it it to be from the ocean, not freshwater. But contrary to popular belief, sushi does not mean raw fish, and a lot of it is actually cooked, although usually very briefly. The word "sushi" in Japanese refers to the rice - it literally means "sticky rice." So what they're serving might be cooked striper; I would ask.

    But the other point about the mis-identified fish is an excellent one. After all the reports I've seen about how most of what is served is sushi restaurants isn't what they say it is, I don't think I would trust any of them.

    That said, the only times I've caught stripers have been out of saltwater, fishing with my brother, and both times we cut off the cheeks and ate those raw, when we were cleaning the fish. And they were delicious!

    I like my fish, dipped in a cup of milk, 2 eggs, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon black pepper, pulled out of that dish and rolled in potato flakes, then dropped in hot oil until it floats to the top golden brown. and like my beef grilled until it has NO BLOOD showing anywhere. thank God for FIRE, cooked food is the best, in my book anyway.

    Look at Number 3. I have alot of sushi on my boat & didn't even know it. I have watermelon sushi, bubble gum sushi, baby bass sushi, pearl sushi, I guess I am the Bubba Gump of fluke sushi..........LOL

    Seriously though, I love the stuff. Austin not so much but He & I would try it. We will try about anytihing once, thats the only way if you know weather you like something or not.

    I love sushi and so does my wife and my 9 year old son. We get it from Kroger about once a month where it's just good. There's a restaurant on Bardstown Rd next to Michael E's that serves awesome sushi....but it ain't cheap.

    My steaks, both beef and venison, are served rare to medium rare. Any more and it may as well get fed to the dogs. I've only had 1 steak that was too rare. When I bit into the fat, it was still pretty hard and cold. Anything else is fine. I like to quote the movie "The Cowboy Way" in restaurants when they ask me how I want my steak....."Just send him right on out and I'll cut off what I want" lol. Still quivering is fine with me.....except on prime rib....medium rare is better then.
