AND before my liberal friends here jump all over me. This is not about right or wrong or left or right. It is about informed versus uninformed.
Me personally......I have read something somewhere on most major current events since I became enlightened during the Reagan Revolution. While I'm a right leaning conservative, NO ONE can ever say I'm uninformed. Maybe misinformed, but never uninformed.
EVERY SINGLE AMERICAN has the responsibility to be informed of things shaping our country. And I wish they would start.

I agree man. I make an effort to know what is going on even if its a 5 minute blitz of info on the radio, tv or web. How in the world can a capable adult not know who the VP is?? I'd even give someone a pass on not knowing who the Speaker or sec of state is but the VP????
My daughter who is 16 knows for goodness sake!!!! Of course I talk about that stuff with her.

I'm a conservative in most things, but I wouldn't bet a dime that either side of the political spectrum is "more ignorant" than the other. If I had to try to pin it down, I'd say more on the left are uninformed, more on the right are misinformed.

I guess I'm a liberal, I know there are sometimes two valid views on most subjects.But I'm also a news junkie.And I like to check fact finder and scopes.Yes there are mis informed folks in this country,but a lot of bright young people watch whats happening here, and remember thier civics classes, and wonder what the hell is wrong with someof us.

I actually view you as an independent minded moderate.......Protectionist, and isolationist...not nearly as liberal as some of the crazies I've met.
I have no idea if you're informed or not.......I suspect you are. Most of the uninformed were those similar to the people interviewed in the video.....I have met kids just like those in the video who are uninformed, yet "think" they know what is what. It is sad watching ignorant fools be ignorant......

Of course I say that tongue-in-cheek, but I think it brings up a good point.
Parents are not exempt in taking some accountability for their kids, if they grow up to become total effing meatheads that don't even know who the VP is because they planted them in front of a computer to play video games all day instead of actually trying to teach them about the world. The sad part is how that idiot's momma is back home telling everyone how proud she is of her brilliant son who attends UC-Berkley....yet he doesn't know who the frickin VP is....my God.
Hell, maybe his momma is a meathead too and it doesn't matter. Meatheads just teach their young meatheads how to be better meatheads.

This obviously IS about left vs. right to you, because there is NOTHING in that video to give any indication as to the political leanings of the people being questioned... not one single thing. Yet you say it's clear to you that they're liberals. The ONLY thing you could POSSIBLY be basing that on is the fact that they have no clue about current events.

You are right, my entire basis of it being CLEAR is that they didn't know current events. Most "educated" young folks who don't know current events, at least in my opinion AND the folks I've had contact with are BLEEDING heart liberals.
It could obviously be that I've never ran into an ignorant conservative YOUNG person. Maybe that is because conservative YOUNG folks actually try to become educated.
It is obviously subjective based on who I've met.
I still stand by what I posted........until you can post something to convince me otherwise.

Personally I'm not wasting time trying to convince those that can't see their hand before their face. I've always been amused by those so insecure they have to fit every human being in to a neat tiddy little category they can then be comfortable with. Have you considered counciling? You might, cause counselors deserve a good laugh too.

You can stand by it until doomsday for all I care. Besides, as soon as you peg someone as ignorant, you assume they're a liberal. Then you talk about how many more ignorant liberals there are than ignorant conservatives. There's no arguing with circular logic like that.

I mean 'omon man....have you ever seen a more perfect case study of projection in your life?
I just sit up at night praying to my God that Geo finds me balanced and acceptable to society.
Then I crack a beer, write GEO on the spent cap, and pitch it on the passing lane of I-65 south to see what truck wants to cognizantly decide to pick it up in the third to most right tread on the front right tire, and carry it to some place where people can appreciate it. Unfortunately, gravite dictates 18 wheelers can not escape the gravitational pull of the earth and make an escape from our solar system to find life Geo understands and that will accept that beer bottle cap.
I gave this alot of thought....I even slpell checked it.
