    Barkley does have some very nice red ear, as your photos display. Nice catch.

    This type of fishing is VERY addictive and yes, they're a BLAST to catch on ultra light or light action equipments. They will abuse four pound test mono, the braid held up much better. They can **** some serious drag too, just an all around great time. We got lucky and caught them on nest when the water was high in the early part of the month.

    I weighed quite a few of them that were between a pound and a half to right at two pounds for the biggest. When they come up beside the boat it's crazy to see how big they really are. I'm going back next May with the intention of catching a wall hanger...I probably should've mounted one of these that were right at two pounds but I'll be back. My wife and son had a ball too and both caught fish over a pound and a half in size and over twelve inches in length. They are hard to find though.
