    That explains it!

Fish the Little Kentucky. Thanks for the respect of not asking. At this point I dont have a problem sharing. two years ago torture and gun to my head and I would not have shared. This fishing is LAME now. Found the same situation on Floyds Fork. Early last year I ran into a cute little family of Otters. Took picture of them swimming around. Thought it was pretty cool. SInce that time I have witnessed a steady decline. SOunds like the problem has been solved! THanks and happy fishing!!!

Joey we haven't solved it but I do think we have identified it....

If I had property bordering such waters I would rage war on them and make Turtle food out of everyone of them I saw.

I live on about 30 acres that indeed does back up to the Fork. I have fished it all my life and even asked my fiance to marry me there. I love this creek but have seen otters only a few times but didn't know they were such a problem.

What Im taking from this debate is that turtles need to eat as well. With that said, I guess I need to start keeping the old .22 Mag handy.

MHall I live within 1/4 mile of the Wabash river on a 7 acre lake and for the first time I saw a river otter in my lake and then I saw him about two weeks later.Since I live on the lake and have one neighbor who lives on the lake and has never seen the otter I think he just visits the lake I do not think he lives here yet.

Illinois has also turned otters loose, Please tell me what you think of otters? LMAO

Another great use for otter fur; string silencers. Naturally water resistant and super quiet.

Believe me I'm not laughing I like the way you express yourself we know where you stand. (okay I laughed some)

I don't like it that Illinois is turning loose otters and bobcats and they will not admit it when you ask them they are like Holder and Obama they lie to you and then two or three years later it come out that they did relocate these animals. In my way of thinking when they don't admit what they are doing they know it is wrong and stupid.

I am hoping the otter does not stay if he does he will probably run into a .222

Haven't been enough this year to make a judgement, but last year was my best year ever for numbers and size of smallmouth. The creeks, and one stretch of river I fish regularly were great.

I'll add this though, another creek that used to be my favorite has really fallen off the past few years. Last time I was there (3yrs ago) I saw a family of otters.

Good post.....It's not everywhere and there are still fish and in some cases and area's it's still good to at times great. But there are areas that use to be great that are now dead and so on.
I do agree with what you said and it was a nice caviat to add to this thread and makes me feel a little better about the future but I still have bigtime concerns...

I've posted this information in other threads previously; but I'll say it again. Eagle Creek near our property in Owen Cty SHOULD be loaded with fish. Perfect conditions. The reality is that it is a ghost town and the only thing I can with any regularity is rock bass. Local land owners have confirmed Otters cleaning out the creeks and their ponds.

Not really sure how to fix this. I guarantee if we could remove the Otters, the fishery would be back in a few years.
