Rainy start... my son backed the boat in...sitting at the wooden moor waiting for him to walk down, picked up my rod, tied on a bone colored Pop-R...casting to the rocks next to the ramp..BAM ! 4 LB er first cast. The look on his face when he walked down and Im holding that fish..he was like ..WTH..? HAHA..we moved to the first cove. where he caught a nice 3 lb er on spinnerbait... minute later, a blast on a spook, reeling it to the side of the boat...it made on last jmp...throwing the lurer. Shawn caughtanoher 3 lb er on spinner bait..we moved out to a spot we like. He got another 3 lb er on yes, spinner bait and I added yet another 3 lb er on a 8 in lizard..after all said, we caught 12 bass... 7 betwwen 3 -4 lbs...seem to be catching them on mutiple luers.. well, I was anyways... topwater. flukes , lizards...

Was this at Newton Stewart Ramp? I have BFL there this weekend and I'm not going to be able to do any pre-fishing. I was thinking about just hanging around there and fishing the weeds if they are up Saturday? Did you notice if the weeds are up across from the ramp?

Weeds are as thick as Iv'e seen in years....look in the back of the small coves, and any point or irregular feature is were we were getting hit...
