Hey All, I have come to the conclusion that there is no "perfect" bait out there.... yea I know it took a while. Now I have fished many different rigs many different ways but without a doubt my go to bait it a Jimmy Poe Spinner bait. He lives about 5 miles from my house and you can find them pretty easy around here but people from other parts of the state probably have no idea what I'm talking about. Anyway I have caught a ton of fish on them but there is always things that I wish I could change on them. So I started changing out the skirts with Lumaflex and switching some of the blades around for either Maximum thump or a slow roller. Now I think I am just going to go all out and start from scratch. I can buy the wires with hooks and heads on ebay but I don't really like the ones on there. I don't think I'm ready to start casting my own wires and heads. Does anyone know of a website that offers different types of heads? I have blades and swivels and obviously skirts but now I am stuck on the wires and heads. Anyone have any input or advice for a new spinner bait maker?

i make my own spinnerbaits from the molds my father left me when he passed. they are awesome, i always catch a lot of fish off of them. he said the key was putting a thin wire on them to increase the vibration they put out. the only bad thing about them is that after a couple of good fish they are pretty much done because the wire will break. i caught one good fish on the river the other day and he just about broke it himself. but i will fish these things over any other spinnerbait on the market any day. good luck building your own!
