On our fishing trip on Friday I had a few obstacles in launching the boat. At the turn in to the New Albany ramp there was a car parked way up on the ramp where one straightens the truck/trailer just before backing down.

He/she was right where I wanted to be. I avoided that obstacle only to see another car parked on the Indiana side of the ramp where I needed to launch the boat. It was a work out for me in reversing in an S pattern to traverse from left to right and back to the left and again to the right. @#&**@

A male occupant was just sitting there messing about with an i-pad type devise oblivious to the world around him. I could understand if he wanted a nice view of the river and the scenery but geez Louise, what the hell are you doing here at the bottom of the ramp?? There are better places for you to play with your wingding.

I thought about educating these ramp squatters but I was anxious to fish and I wasn't concealed carrying. Life is too short to sweat the small things.

When we returned to the ramp I once again encountered a ramp squatter. A young lad of about 20 or so was parked on the Kentucky side of the ramp at the waters edge.I did notice that he had a fishing pole in the water. While I was preparing to jump out of the bow and proceed on foot up the ramp to retrieve my rig he moved his vehicle to the exact spot I needed to place the trailer in the water. I very politely told him he was fine where he was before but not to where he moved his car.
He was very apologetic and then moved backed to his previous location.

Once I retrieved my boat, I stopped at the water's edge to drain my live wells and offered him the left over shad we had. He was very grateful for the bait.

Another peeve. Why do cars park in the tow vehicle/trailer spots? When we arrived there was a truck parked in the prime spot with no trailer. Hey you moron!! There are a ton of parking places so why do you have to take one of the few vehicle/trailer spots. Grrrrrrr.

I realize that the ramps are "Public" but I just get peeved when the idiot public want to squat in the way of boaters wanting to launch and retrieve. Gol dangit, the ramps are ramps, not parking places.

I feel better now that my harrumph is over.
