    No - it's the latest creation/scare tactic from meteorologists to draw ratings to their TV newscasts.

    Last year's derecho caused 22 deaths, so I think the weather service can be forgiven for erring on the side of caution. Had a derecho occured without this warning going out, they would have taken even MORE crap.
