Even so .... you can bank fish around any of the 4 launch ramps, and down at the dam, without having to drag your gear any great distance. You could also fish the spillway, below the dam (but with only 50cfs flow, I'm not sure that would be a good option).

Louisville District Daily Lake Report

This is where I look to get water level related info ... and if you click on the blue number under "Todays Pool Feet", a chart will come up showing the water level trends (highs/lows), rain amount, and flow for the past year.

So we fished from the Van Buren ramp and didn't catch a thing. The lake was very busy and several people bank fishing.

I plan on going again soon and trying a different area. I did stop at the tailwater and it was really busy there. Thanks everyone for the advice.
