    Fished Guist Creek friday

Had one of my best days fishing Guist Creek yesterday. Caught quiet a few bass and my fishing buddy caught a bunch of good size blue gill and crappie. Was going to keep some of the gills and crappie but my livewell wouldn't hold water. seemed to just keep draining out ,had the drain plug in. hadn't had that problem before. One pleasure boater seemed to see how close he could get to us ,so just left that area, But other than that was a great day.

Glad to hear you guys had a good day. What were they biting on? Haven't been on Guist for about a year and a half. Never understood why people bring their cruisers on that lake? Not enough lake to handle much "cruising". Taylorsville is not that much further.

also glad you had a good day there and I like fishing Guist but had my worst bank washing experience there last year. I was up the creek end when a wakeboard boat came flying through and almost put me on the bank. I have never understood why, unless you lived on Guist, people don't go on to Taylorsville to run.

I used to think Guist was a safe lake to take my old 12ft flat bottom. That was until the one evening I was fishing just outside the no wake area and a guy driving one of them big inboard runabouts got right up on me at full speed while he was in a turn. Darn near tipped my buddy and me out of the boat.

I caught all my bass on a crank bait. Had tried other stuff and didn't have any luck .That was the first time something like that has happened to me there . Most pleasure boaters have kept their distance from us ,but I think these people owned a house on the lake or was kin to them because they pulled up to the bank and got out there .there was also a couple jet skis at the bank. So as we were fishing that streach of bank they came in fast to the bank and rocked us good. Glad I had caught a nice bass right before they done that to us. So from now on fish those kind of spots early and as more boats show up head to no wake zones.

I had an idiot in a pontoon run right by me in the ski area. Not complaining because he was running but he did not have to be so close as he came by. I believe he did it on purpose because I was close to the bank. Glad your fishing went well though.
