Anybody catfishing yet? Ohio River may be a little too fast for juggin' this weekend so thinking about trying lake. Haven't been on the lake in a while so just looking for info on the status of the bite...I have my own spots and such. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I don't fish Patoka as much as I would like to for various reasons like old truck and high gas prices and limited budget. But when I do fish Patoka for crappie using tight line and minnows I have caught a few big cat fish in the process. Some nice big catfish that were about 4 lbs. I can only remember that they had a deeply forked caudal fin. That's the tail fin as it's called the Caudal Fin in fish speak. I'm not sure if they were channel cats of another species. There were only two types of catfish that have a deeply forked tail fin in my fish book. You key out the fish in the book using the tail fin shape among other things.
I've caught big cat fish at Bluegrass while fishing for crappie with live minnows.
Catfish love live minnows.
I had a freshwater aquarium once and put a small cat fish in it with some small crappie. The catfish grew pretty big and ate a lot of minnows.
