Important and necessary law...in 1965.
This is 2013. The article points out Selma, Al and Philadelphia, Ms now have black mayors. Heck the country has a black president. Despite what the professional race baiters say, it's time for outdated, constitutionally questionable laws like this to go away.
The other thing that's strikes me is the places subject to the 1965 law needed Justice Dept. (Eric Holder) approval to change their voting laws. Eric freaking Holder is the most biased and incompetent AG in history (although he is better looking than Janet Reno). That moron shouldn't be in charge of approving anything beyond what color of TP the Justice Dept. uses. (I don't know if they make black TP, so don't ask.)
What's wrong? Am I missing something?
My horrible attempt at sarcasm.![]()
I actually believe based on our constitution, that the parts voted down were UNCONSTITUTIONAL. You cannot impose special legislation on groups of people because you don't like the way they manage their voting process. Impose it on everyone or not on anyone..........
Selective legislation in this regard is unconstitutional.

This is deemed by many as a conservative leaning court. Selective judiciary? how about selective law enforcement? I can point out several places that hire undocumented workers, but drop a dime and suddenly, you notice law enforcement interest, in you!
