The Mcalpine pool has been really good all year. I've been fishing it a lot and only had one day where the current was slack. If that water moves at all you will catch em. Topwater has been good. It's supposed to come up to 16 ft in the upper by Monday. It's going to be phenomenal. On a rise like that any back water and flat creeks are good. Also any substantial current break should hold big spots.

Never fished below the Dam, but I will fish it soon. I have heard too many people talk about how good the fishing is so I have to try. I mostly fish for bass, but I'm going to diversify.

I'm talking about the mcalpine pool above the dam. Jeff, louisville, Utica on up river. Cannellon is better. More habitat and a lot more channel swings. A lot of the mcalpine pool is relatively straight until Madison. I only fish below dam from the fossil beds for sauger in the winter. Never fished that area from
my boat. I would imagine it can be pretty good. There's always a little current. Even when the river is low and slow. Current is king
