    Where to go in Louisville?

My wife and I have been at the Kosair hospital since last Friday with our 13 yr old. Looking for a place to take the wife and eat, just to get her away from the hospital for an hour or so. My son is doing alot better, so I want to get my wife out. Plenty of family will be with him while we go. If she agrees to go of course. Tired of the fast food!!! I know some of you guys are from this area and could give some suggestions. Thanks

Old Speghetti Factory is good........Not to spendy......and then there are a lot of great places at 2nd and main.

    Those places include:

The Troll Bar: Decent , moderately prices sports type food. GREAT club sandwich and burgers. Angry PASTA is great.

Doc Crows: Really good BBQ downtown.

O'shays: Decent Irish food. Guiness beer battered fish is THE BOMB. Also their guiness "stew" is good too.

    Impezerelli's: Again decent food.........Pizza.

BBC: Bluegrass Brewing Company. Across from the Yum center.

My wife and I have season tickets to the Louisville Bats, and they're in town this Thursday-Sunday. Let me know if you'd like to go, and the tickets are yours. 23rd row, slightly to the right of home plate, almost right behind it.

    Roadtoad,
Thank u for offering us the tickets. The teams of Dr's have decided he is well enough to go home. This is good considering they told us yesterday it was gonna be maybe Monday before we could go. Long story short
My son had close to 2 liters of fluid drained off his heart and then had open heart surgey to remove the stuff that was too thick to drain. They didnt know the cause until yesterday. Histoplasmosis is what they are treating him for now. His bodies reaction to this fungal infection is not a very common thing. Thanks again for your offer! Hate to turn the tickets down, but love that my boy is going home.

Thanks! It all started with a fever that kept coming back and after two trips to the pediatrician in one week, we took him to the ER in Georgetown and from there to UK then tranferred to Kosairs for the surgery.

Just over the bridge to Rockies Italian, Buckheads Grill, or Kingfish, the wife and I like it when we have folks in the downtown hospitals because it gives us the chance to get away, out of town, just 3-4 miles away, have a great view of the city, and relax for just abit before crossing the bridge and "going back to work", watching out for loved ones. JMHO. Maybe a "Plan B".

Hurricanebob: I don't know when you were last at Rockie's newer location by Buckheads but Rockies was terrible the last time I was there.

We ordered a large pizza and just attempted eating one slice each.Never finished the one slice each. When the inattentive waitress finally returned to our table she wanted to know if we wanted her to box up the remains so we could take it home. I just told her, "Sweetie, why would I want to take it home and throw it in the trash? Why don't you just throw it away here and save us the trip." Her shift was ending and she could give a flying **** if we were satisfied with our meal.

The iced tea we ordered tasted like it was three days old.

When I say the menu is old and stale, I mean the actual menu one reads. Grease on the plastic cover, spaghetti sauce on the inside pages. Ugh!!

That was about two years ago and we haven't returned since.
