There is a pier and baitshop "downtown" near the light house they will have a tide chart and you're temp. Ga. fishing license. You can catch Trigger fish, Pinfish, Snapper's small Sharks etc. straight down around the pier's. There are large 100#plus Sharks and Ray's caught by the locals with heavy saltwater gear. I have also caught Bull Redfish using my Striper gear with mullet for bait. For something different you can buy a trap and some chicken necks and catch some blue crabs while you're fishing.Originally Posted by mess
The pier over on Jekyll Island is also good, the shrimp boats dump their by-catch near there and it attracts alot of different fish including Gators.
