No how old was the Jason Brown thing? He did not get off scott free. The case was also reviewed by the Commonwealth as was the Jason Brown thing. Call the chief. Even the newest case you have is 3 years old. Either be like Louis Coleman or let it go brother.

Sounds like you need to go to the doctor and talk about OCD meds. Know all the stories and not what is just on the news or what you can find out. Call the TIA officer and ask him about the case before you spout facts.

I remember a story that never ran on the news. The news was complaining about how many cops were speeding. Someone hung out by the various news stations and clocked how many of the news casters were trying to get to work on time or home after the news casts at 11 wow. They blew us away. Why did that not make the news????????????? Where were you. Lets look at all the truck drivers of Daughner plumbers that speed up and down my neighborhood everyday. Way more than LMPD.

Call the Doc get some OCD meds life will be goooooooood. Dude really you will live longer.

Here is the best part I am getting ready to go eat all you can eat seafood at the beach. I have had several drinks. Life is good. But as sooooon as I get back in my car I am going to speeeeeeeeed just because I can. Oh by the way the traffic cars in Louisville don't care if you speed or not. They are known to write tickets or turn you in to your boss as well.

Dude you need a life it is ok. I understand. You will be fine.

You've done a great job of completely ignoring the point I tried to make. And since you don't have anything intelligent to say on the subject, now you're resorting to personal insults. Oh well, it takes all kinds...

Know all the facts before you start to bash. You are harpin about stuff way in the past. That was looked at by the commonwealth and they found no fault. But you can. Good thing you are not the executioner. Because some one does not agree with and brings up other facts I miss the point. The point is we are just more visible than others speeding or someone else says we mess up. Get it. That is why I mentioned other jobs, Ford and GE. The news thought it was great to run a story about our speeding until it was pointed out how bad their's was get it.

Before you say we are all wrong know everything. If you have a huge gripe call the chief's office. Plain and simple. But be sure you know what you are talking about. the other officers you are talking about did not get off scott free as you say they were investigated more so than someone who was police. To bring up facts that far back is like kicking a dead horse.

I do take offense when people bash the my brothers in blue. We are not perfect no. But people are quick to jump the gun and then when there is no story well no body remembers that.

The examples I gave of the cops speeding could be for a better reason that the last Krispy Kream is about to sell out. If someone is trying to catch up to a stolen car as soon as you hit your lights its gone. So you try to cheat a little and get close before you tip your hand. Is it 100% right no just an example.

    ZX150

Thank you for providing a service that NO ONE here understands.

It is a tough job. Those that do it LOVE IT, plain and simple. I've had lots of cops in my family. My sister in law, and my Step Dad. They shared horror stories about ungrateful SOB's that just want to SCREW with you because you're a cop.

I bet Toad will be the FIRST bitching when joe cop doesn't show up in 20 seconds when some THUG is clubbing him over the head to take his wallet.......or heaven forbid.......something worse.

ZX150 said she was speeding..........I personally know him, therefore I TRUST what he says...PERIOD. I personally know others on the force and therefore TRUST them too.

Kid shot in the back running away........He was a bad apple and deserved the bullet in the back...PERIOD.

Other stories.........who cares........COPS have a freakin tough job. There are some bad apples, but the ones I know are STRAIGHT SHOOTERS.......

AS ZX150 stated.....if it pisses you off so much......get an attorney and take it up with the city, otherwise grab a rd and reel, and lets go fishin.............

Normally this **** rears its ugly head around winter time. WTF..........

    Later,

    Geo

This got brought back to my attention when there was a report about Officer Adams not being charged. The point I'm trying to make here, is that police officers are supposedly held to a higher standard than the rest of us, yet from what I've seen over the years, the exact opposite seems to be true. And all the protestations about how I would complain about an officer being slow to respond don't hold water if you look at the facts of this case, because Officer Adams was off-duty at the time of the accident. If he had been responding "code 3" with lights and siren on, there would be NO issue here.

Geo, do you think that if YOU were going 83 in 45 mph zone, t-boned a woman and killed her, you would not be charged with ANY crime? Even if she was drunk (btw, nobody has said she was speeding, or ran a light, or a stop sign, or anything)?

Let me tell you some more information, which may explain why I personally am a little over-sensitive to this issue. My first wife made a legal turn onto a highway in Delaware once, on the way home. She was stone cold sober, pulled out in the right lane. She saw the New Castle County police car coming, but he was way down the road. What she failed to notice was the he was doing 75 mpg (it was a 45 mph zone) on the way to his lunch break. He rear-ended her, and she spent 2 days in the hospital, and went through a few months of physical therapy for back and neck pain. His car went off the road and rolled a couple times, although he was lucky, and wasn't seriously injured. It was reported in the newspapers that nobody stopped to help him, even though this happened about 2 miles from a hospital, and an RN on the way home from work stopped to help, and he pushed her away and told her to f** off (he was shook up at the time, so you can't fault him for acting oddly). When we reported it to our insurance company, and asked for the police report, it had been "lost." That's when we decided we needed a lawyer. When he subpoenaed the record, it miraculously reappeared. We ended up settling out of court, but as you can imagine, that left me with a bad taste in my mouth, and when I see the police NOT being held to the higher standard that they SHOULD be, it gets to me.

ZX, I have no reason to believe that you are anything but a fine officer, and I respect your loyalty to your brothers in blue. Maybe now you can understand why this kind of thing bothers me so flippin' much.
