    Just updated my Hummingbird Firmware

All I've got to say is WOW.

I have a 788hd DI unit. It has been quirky with some stuff and colors were always quite right.

I looked on their website and found an update with over 30 software fixes since last June. I downloaded it, stuck in on a sim card and loaded it to my finder.

Lots of the things that were quirky are now fixed.

If you have a high end fish finder, then you may want to look into upgrading it.

I'm surprised that you didn't know about this already. Which reminds me that I need to do the latest upgrade for my Humminbird Unit. I've been putting that off since I've not been doing a lot of fishing the last two or three weeks.

Don't forget to reset your unit to the default values before you try to update it.

Humminbird.com says there is a firmware for it...........but I cannot get it since I have not registered a 597 unit.

You need to logon to humminbird.com and register the unit. You need the serial number to do that.

Once registered, it will pull the download for you.

You need to put humminbird PC on your computer and then pull the firmware to the PC. Once on the PC, you install the firmware to the SD card.

Once on the SD card. turn the finder on, reset to factory defaults, and then turn off.

Put the SD card in the finder,

Turn the finder on....follow the directions.....

    Boom......upgraded.

You don't need HumminbirdPC to do a firmware upgrade on the humminbird units. Just register your unit and go to your profile after your registered and it should show you if there area any updates to download. Just download the file to a folder on your computer and then transfer that file to a formatted SDHC card.

There directions on how to update your unit will be found on the web site at humminbird. Go to support and then log into your account and check on the files that are available to download. There should be some instructions on how to do the update there.

I thought you "might" be able to put it directly on the SD card, but I was not too sure.
