This stand your ground law could also apply to Trevon who was being stalked by Zimmerman for no good reason. Zimmerman was not a policeman and had no right to stalk anyone and follow them around. That's illegal in my State. There are plenty of states that have stalking laws. Zimmerman was asked not to do what he was doing by the dispatcher yet he ignored that good advise and decided to talk matters into his own hands when he got out of his vehicle and followed or chased Trevon into the darkness.
Trevon didn't lead George back to his dads place as he had a younger brother at that place and didn't want to bring the white cracker into contact with his little brother. That was smart of him to lead the stalker away from his little brother. The little brother was home alone and the last thing you want to do is go straight home with a stranger following you first in his car and then on foot in the dark and rainy night. What would you do if someone started following you? Would you flee or stand your ground? Trevon was unarmed unless you call a bottle of Watermellon drink and a bag of skittle arms. I think not.
Sorry guys but I have to agree with the juror that voted on the first vote in the jury room to convict Zimmerman of 2nd degree murder. The laws need to be changed in Florida to keep this type of stalking and killing from happening again.
And Zimmerman definitely profiled the kid who he saw a a black man in a hoodie who was up to no good. But all he really saw was a kid on his way back home to watch TV with his little brother and carrying a soda and some candy. Funny how rose colored glasses change the way we see things.
