I like the one were your buddy begs you to take him fishing. Then around 1:00 they tell they need to pick there kids up from school, or they told their wife they would be back by 2:30 or 3. It's awesome when u spend the money to drive 90 miles to go somewhere. I told them they better call and say they r going to be late. That's the last time they will go. It's really hard to find someone to go with, and share expenses. I hardly ask anyone anymore

I have a few friends that fish, but it is always hard to get together, mostly due to work. So, I fish alone.
Don't feel bad i usually fish alone too. I almost enjoy it more sometimes just because of the peace and quiet and being able to enjoy some of the simple things. However i do miss having someone around to share some of the exciting moments and nice fish i catch. pictures dont always do the justice ya know? Seems like when i do manage to get a friend or family member to fish with we always end up having a story to tell. My daughter just picked up a fishing pole the first time this year and i think she fell in love after catching a bigger fish than her dad. So i may end up having a reliable fishing partner down the road after all.

    Kids at school..

I admit, I have been fishing during the school day, and the fish start hitting around the time school lets out... just one more cast, just one more cast.... I will tell him if I am going before he goes to school...Not really abandoning him, he is never stuck anywhere. I'll send him at txt and let him know, I got tied up! He understands...

I have a buddy that I think the world of but he's like clock work. Everytime I see him, Hey man take me fishing sometime. Everytime I call to ask he has something else to do, lol.......EVERY single time.....Says I never give him enough notice and wants to schedule fishing trips way in advance. With my job and weather I fly by the seat of my britches, you gotta go when you gotta go.....

Wow. I just typed a reply and it put somebody else's post in there.

    Too early.
I can understand, 3 AM is mighty early. I usually say, hey, give me a call when you want to go! Saves time.

I can take an excuse but I don't tolerate not showing up....one trip was set up for a week and my buddy and I talked about it often before the trip. The plan was for him to pick his dad up and meet me at my house at 5am. I would have all the rods, reels and extra life vest. This was before cell phones were popular so when they didn't show at 5am I called his house.... No answer.... I waited for 20 minutes in case they were on their way. I left about 5:30 pissed off!! I missed some great topwater action because of him. Turns out he overslept and even went to get his dad late and then showed up Surprised I had left.
His dad was more pissed at him than me! We went fishing later that spring and it was always a good joke....."don't be late with Don or he will leave you"! Dang skippy!!!

Man. I overslept a couple years ago. Going on my boat to net bait for myself and another friend that was to meet me way up the creek at the bait netting spot. No idea what happened to alarm..I turned it off or did not set it. He called and woke me up. I had 35 minutes to get up, get the boat in the water and net before first light. I did manage to get a few near where I was staying. Real nice guy but I could tell he was pissed in his voice mainly because he started off with "ohhh man" real loud.

I now think twice about meeting folks to help or get them bait. I just take an extra tank and tell them to call me at first light to see if I got enough for them . If I get bait great. If I over sleep, otherwise malfunction, or the netting is no good then..nothing ventured nothing gained for them.

I'd plan fishing trips farther in advance, without regard to weather.....but I never know when I'll be sober enough to drive that far. :-)

Have not wetted a line since last week in May. Job keeping me hopping, and I'm enjoying that even though it keeps me from fitting 2 days off in a row to get the rig out the driveway.

To make me feel better, last Sunday I just hooked up the boat and drove it around the neighborhood a couple times. I figured pulling it a bit would help eliminate tire flat spots. Just seeing the rig in the rearview mirror helped some.

Now, what I really need to do is relocate to a Ford dealership in the Jamestown area, and I'd be allllllll set!

I'm always ready...call me whenever, my wife knows the drill, my 13 yo mows the grass , my daughter says I am too loud at her games and my boss knows I love to fish.

We have a code amongst us, the term "aqua bound" to fisherman is like 911 to EMS, drop it all and go!!!
