Traded a couple inches of my skeg plate for some stripers, anybody have any luck with the bolt on protectors

Never have tried the protectors but did have a new skeg welded on about year and half ago on a 150 Johnson and it was right at 300 bucks too have done.

put one on my 200 mercury it has done just fine

I had a stainless steel on a 200 merc. for the 9 years I owned it and never had a problem I put s.s. bolts in it.
