I'll try to test some Albrights tomorrow. I have tested a few Albrights but they weren't the Albright Specials and were only OK. I think the Albright Knot is really supposed to be utilized when you have a great degree of difference in the two lines you're joining.

My current theory on marrying braids to mono would be this...for panfishing with lighter lines, I'd go with the Stren Knot or Bristol Knot. When river fishing for cats or bass fishing in heavy cover with heavy lines I'd probably connect with either the Bristol Knot or the Yucatan Knot. Ultimately, people go with what they're good at tying and feel comfortable with. I would pick two knots and PRACTICE tying both of them, become an expert at the knots YOU like.
