More scientific research for you guys to ignore

Actually I believe both those things. But I am not convinced as to what the level of man-made influence is.

One reason is this: the Earth warmed from 1978 to 1998. Existing computer models couldn't reproduce the warming trend using the existing variables in the models for natural forces. So, the conclusion was made by the IPCC that the warming was man-made.

But when those same models failed to anticipate the lack of warming over the past decade or so, the IPCC admitted that their models failed to account for the fluctuations in natural forces.

In other words, if it warms, we have the models right and man is the cause. If it doesn't warm, we don't have the models right.

Just not reliable enough to me.

Having said all that--I think we should all make our energy choices as if all the climate change alarmists are correct. Shouldn't we all take care of the environment, conserve energy, waste less, make choices that have as minimal impact as possible on the Earth? As a Christian, I view that philosophy as a responsibility given to us by God as we serve as stewards of Creation.

Where I part ways with the prevailing thought is that I think they should be our choices to make. When it comes to government mandates, we already have lost enough of our freedoms here in the U.S., and no one will ever convince me that the science, or at the very least the conclusions drawn from the science, aren't driven by politics and a feeding frenzy for grant funding.

That's true, but again the question is causality. Gore and other alarmists have done their cause a disservice by their constant exaggerations of the science. Like the glaciers in the Himalayas disappearing by 2035 etc.

This is more than enough to make me think we're a bunch of ARROGANT Jack-Booted MORONS to think we know jack SQUAT about what the climate is really doing, and to spend Multiple TRILLIONS of dollars saving us from certain doom is just as ARROGANT.

I don't know if this was directed at me or one of the other guys, but a lot of what you stated hit the nail on the head. I do, however, believe part of climate change is caused by us. At the end of the day though, the earth is going to do whatever the hell it wants and I don't think there is anything we can do about it.
