I shop at Krogers, I fish at Cumberland, and I have a day job too. I appreciate and respect your opinion that a August Striper Guide Jumps Fishing LLC may not be a fruitful venture, but is it still okay to cast to surface feeding fish even if it's not the appropriate calendar month?

Dear Striped Bass,
You are no longer allowed to surface and eat shad during the months of June thru August. You may start practicing to do so in limited numbers not earlier than 15 September each year however that training must be concluded not later than 30 September. During the months of October, thru December, you are authorzed to collect into very large schools, and feed at the surface, but only once every 20 minutes and then no further than 100 feet from the last place your surfaced. In an effort to conserve energy and burn less out board motor gasoline, you are instructed to surface withing 100 yards of any well established boat ramp, dock, or anchored houseboat. Surface feeding before light and after dark must only be done when shad have first surfaced, made a swirling noise of suficient loudness as to allow anglers near by to avoid the need to use boat gas to close within casting distance. Failing to follow these rules will cause you to be deported from Lake Cumberland to Taylorsville Lake. Repeat offenders will be banished to Nolin. (Most Stripers don't follow rules, that's why they end up wearing those pin-striped suits).
