California....on some kind of big'ol swimbait.

Just finished reading "Sowbelly... The Quest for The World Record Largemouth Bass" and I have to say that it was a great read. After reading this I have to ask the question, if only to get the opinion of some real fishermen. With the recent foul hooking of a fish proported to be over 25lbs it would appear that it is only a matter of time. So here goes.... When, where, and on what luer would you guess that the next world record largemouth will be taken on?
Hopefully this will stimulate a good converation...
Keep on chuckin'
California....on some kind of big'ol swimbait.
Well that's pretty easy...i agree with Splitshot....California and a Swimbait. History has proven that this state has alot of things in order to produce that World Record. I don't see Florida producing the records but Texas is doing well.....still have to go with California.
I'm with the majority of the other posters, look to the west young man. California is the place to be....
They have the procedures, including trout stocking to feed their Florida Strain Largemouths to reach their full potential, plus they also have the extended growing season.
As for lure, I'd look for either a really big tube bait or a jig on the bed. I think the fish will have to be caught during the spawn to be of full weight.
I love catching those really biggun's but if I had my choice, fishing all day for one 25 lber, or fishing all day and catching 12 2.5 lbers, I'll take the latter. Of course I won't make a million dollars off my day, but I will have a lot of fun.

PS, great subject.
California
California on either a big swim bait or live bait.
BTW, I bought that book not long after it came out. Are those guys out there nuts or what? Some of them have ruined their lives just chasing after that record.
I agree with California as well, Heck just think how much money that fish will be worth if someone does catch the big ole girl... Bet the guys who were fishing for that bog girl last year that was foul hooked. Will be looking for her again this year...I bet the guy won't leave the area this time if he spots her first this time.... I wouldn't for sure.....
California for sure, that was an easy one. My guess on live bait, probably a large crawfish as is used frequently out there and has produced numbers of huge fish.
Hey guy's call Bob Cruppi to find out what he's going to bite on in Calif. And Roland M. with the helicoptor in Mexico..lol....Had to throw Mexico in the mix...just for a riverrat fix....
Hey Mark ... Gettin close to that time.....
The world record has been broken several times in Cuba. These fish were caught on big live leaches. It has also been broken more than once in California. A woman broke the record there a few years ago, weighed it unofficially, but turned it loose!! The IGFA doesn't want to recognize any of these fish.
