Today would have been the perfect day to be on Dale Hollow. Nasty, icy, snowy windy conditions spell one thing and that is YUM YUM for the Smallie bite. I can see it now, no boat traffic, FNF rod loaded up with a fresh Duck Feather Red and Chartruese jig all Doped up to perfection to that cast onto that current "Honey Hole" in mid lake (you know the one Hens). Bobber going hippity hop all by itself, just reeling slow enough to keep the line tight then the bobber takes a swim to the swing, hookset and catch of a 5+ Beaut. I guess a guy can dream for a while.
All of you that have tournaments and trips that are cancelled this weekend can blame it on one person, not Mother Nature, but ME. My wife and I were to head out to Evansville IN to see Rodney Carrington Live tonight at 8:45. 4th Row Tickets bought, hotel reserved, kid to grandmas house, dog to other grandmas house, everything. First Date for my wife and I in over 6 months, planned to the perfection and this happens. Not worth the 3 hour drive out for some fun so it is a pot of freshly made chili, I made it today, and movies from Blockbuster and the recorded Rodney Carrington Live at the Majestic un-cut version for us tonight. Plus a couple that we know in Evansville are picking up our tickets and going in our place so they will be used by somebody, just not us.

SO, What's the problem, were you going to take your WIFE fishing on the OHIO RIVER. or did I miss somt.......?
No fishing on the Ohio today but wishing to laugh at Rodney Carrington plus look at the scenery when he sings his song "Show them to Me". Was hoping to have some "Honeys" in the crowd to stand up and play along. The only thing better than a "Big old Good'en" on the end of your line is a "Pair of Big old Good'ens" in the crowd participating to the song.
Man, I'm still lost...maybe it relates to my "AGE..62"....No fishing on the Ohio today but wishing to laugh at Rodney Carrington plus look at the scenery when he sings his song "Show them to Me". What ever, good fishing to you and your wife. Evansville is a great town and hope you get over here soon.

Lived in Boonville for 2 years and have no plans on coming back any time soon, no dis-respect. Rodney Carrington was the only reason to re-visit the area this time. Find and watch the Rodney show, Live at the Majestic, the un-rated version and you will not be "Lost" anymore.

I was suppose to be arriving at Dale tomorrow but this storm has wiped that off the map. My one and only opportunity to try out the FnF this year was not meant to be. I do believe today had to be a great day if you were lucky enough to be on the water and did not have to worry about going north anytime soon.
The best day I ever had on Dale in the spring was one of the prettiest days I ever fished there in the spring. Temp climbed to mid 60's, bluebird skys, and the lake was calm and slick as glass. Caught around 30 fish from daylight til dark with 10 18" keepers. The sun was penetrating the slick water warming the shale banks, and the big smallmouth were up very shallow.
Elnut, have you heard how much snow they have got at Dale Hollow yet? Let me know when you find out, if you can....

\\Call me dangit in the AM>
Louisiana Derby I do believe has Pyro in it and from what I have seen, he was the 2nd best 2 yr old last year, but has filled out nicely and he is my early Derby Choice. Have not looked at the past performances but anywhere near his best and all the rest are running for 2nd place in the Louisiana Derby. Good Luck to you Billy
