If It Wasn't For God Loving Christians, There Would Have Never Been A Usa. God Bless Us All!
Larry, do you feel guilty over these things? You seem pretty fired up. The God loving Christians do ALOT of good everyday and noone is perfect...but some are better.Whos turning this into a racial issue? Do you think what is happening in africa is only their problem? We are created in his image, ALL of us. I didn't see or remember ever hearing any exclusions of that fact. A starving kid in appalacia, demeans us just as much as starving kid in africa. For years we have sent missionary to that and other third world countrys, we supply them with bibles, and completly ignore the social problems that exist over in those countrys.Wait , when the presidential race begins, who ever it is that is running, all the dirt and false accusations will start to emerge. Thats why I cant abide with religion and politics put into the same category. We have right wings zealots, and if and when they come into power, they will tell us that what is happening is all Gods design. You know us white folks dont have that good a track record, the trail of tears wasn't an indian idea. Those slave ships that came here weren't a cruise ships for travel and recreation. There wasn't any Iraq or Iran, or Isreal or Palesestine, these were great white ideas that went wrong, and just who did all of these things, why god loving christians, thats who.
Why are we bringing a guys church into this? It was also a contrributing factor in Romney not being around anymore. How come we dont hear about Mcains church? or clintons? must be because they are left handed, or maybe dont go to church. I dont care what sect you belong to, if you're a christian, that is ALL that should matter.
Seems worth bringing the guy's church into it in this particular case. The pastor at his church has been quoted as saying Louis Farahkan(sp?) is a great man. If he attends that church and buys into what his pastor believes, I don't want him as my president.
Farahkan supports BO, and eventhough he's publicly said he didn't ask for Farahkan's support, Obama stopped short of denouncing it. I watched him stumble around trying to answer that question, the only time I've seen him flustered.
I wonder how many of you guys would still be calling for ignoring his religion if he were an avowed devil worshiper?
I have a problem with the white guilt that influences so many people's actions these days. Reason being my ancestors' actions had nothing to do with me, and I don't have any guilt at all. My great grandfather was some kind of Grand Dragon down there in Alabama, but I see no need to pay restitution for his actions.
Were blacks treated badly? Yes. What does that have to with those of us today? Zero. Nada. BTW, many of the slaves were bought with trade goods from their own tribes in Africa, so they didn't it have too keen before our ancestors showed up. Did it work out all right for them as a whole? They'd be oppressed by their own corrupt governments in Africa and/or starving instead of living pretty well here in America and playing the race card on virtually every issue that arises if the whites hadn't come along.
I'm very very sick of Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and their ilk going around aggravating race relations instead of trying to truly address the issues of black Americans. People like Bill Cosby who see what's really wrong and try do something about it get branded 'Uncle Tom' by Jesse and Al's followers. A lot easier to blame things on racial oppression than to truly try to do something about them.
The Indians got a raw deal all the way around. Once again I'm not sure what that has to do with us now, as we can do nothing about it.
AMEN BROTHER! I'M ALSO TIRED OF THE RACE CARD BEING PLAYED CONTINUALLY BY AFRICAN AMERICANS! I'M NOT SAYING THAT THERE AREN'T ANY RACIST WHITES IN AMERICA STILL TO THIS DAY...CAUSE THERE ARE, BUT IF AFRICAN AMERICANS TRULY WANT EQUALITY, THEN WHY DO THEY MAKE EVERYTHING A BLACK AND WHITE ISSUE? WHY DO THEY FEEL THE NEED TO SEGREGATE THEMSELVES FROM ALL OF US?Seems worth bringing the guy's church into it in this particular case. The pastor at his church has been quoted as saying Louis Farahkan(sp?) is a great man. If he attends that church and buys into what his pastor believes, I don't want him as my president.

I HEARD A MAN TODAY ON THE RADIO, WHO WAS AN AFRICAN-AMERICAN BO SUPPORTER. WHEN ASKED THE QUESTION OF IF HE WAS VOTING FOR BO BECAUSE HE WAS AN AFRICAN AMERICAN, HE SAID....YES. HE WAS THEN ASKED AGAIN, "THE ONLY REASON YOU ARE VOTING FOR BO IS BECAUSE HE IS AN AFRICAN AMERICAN?" THE GUY ANSWERED YES AGAIN! ISN'T THAT CRAZY! TO VOTE FOR SOMEONE BASED ONLY ON HIS SKIN COLOR AND NOT KNOW ANY OTHER REASON TO VOTE FOR HIM.....SCARY!
ANYONE WHO SAYS THAT LOUIS FARAHKAN IS A "GREAT MAN", IS A RACIST (JUST LIKE HIM), AND EVERYONE THAT SUBSCRIBES TO HIS PHILOSIPHIES (BO) WOULD NEVER HAVE MY VOTE!
Don't think Obama supports Farrakhan or his ideas:
"I decry racism and anti-Semitism in every form and strongly condemn the anti-Semitic statements made by Minister Farrakhan," Obama said in the statement. "I assume that Trumpet Magazine made its own decision to honor Farrakhan based on his efforts to rehabilitate ex-offenders, but it is not a decision with which I agree." A few other comments along those lines were said by Obama and are reported on a number of sites.
I agree with you, someone voting for a candidate just because of their race or gender is crazy.
Andrew
I don't think Obama supports Farakhan, either, but it is true that the leader of Obama's church called Farakhan "a great man." Given that he does claim to have strong ties to his church, well... I think this is the one and only criticism relating to church that I think really is valid. Why doesn't he renounce Farakhan?
So Obama "strongly condeming" Farrahkan is not enough for you???
Andrew
OK, OK, I cleaned my glasses and drank my coffee :-)
The interview I watched, his 'strong condemnation' wasn't very convincing to me. Pretty bland denouncement, stumbling over his words all the while.
You wouldn't support a candidate who was racist right? OB's church is racist by definition. If you belonged to a church that supported causes just because they were for the advancement of white people you'd be part of a racist group. Think it over and explain the difference. Take your time.
Since I didn't get answer from those saying it doesn't matter what church he attends, I'll ask again. What if he were an avowed satanist? Well Col, what about it, would that matter?
I don't like the idea of a Muslin born racist as president.
Tack on the fact that he's the closest thing to an outright socialist this side of Hillary Clinton and that pretty well seals the deal.
What if McCain decided we had to call him an Irish American (an example, don't know what his lineage is) and he belonged to a church that supported causes that advanced only caucasian people? Think the press would be heaping adoration on him?
BO (and HC) also perpetuate class envy and get most of their votes with hollow promises to take from people who achieve financial success and give it to those who don't. BTW, Dems have been promising that long as I can remember, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out if you take away the motivation to succeed the system will collapse. In the meantime their proposed social programs will result in higher taxes for all of us, take that to the bank. Well actually that'll be a few less trips to the bank for most of us, but we'll sure feel good about it I bet.
Socialism, while seemingly the most humane form of government just doesn't work in practice, it's been proven again and again. Any society where the government redistributes wealth by force is destined to fail. Sounds cold, but there's just too many parasites and eventually every socialist government will collapse under it's own weight.
