Havent fished Shanty Hollow in years either, I think it nearly went dry once when a sinkhole drained part of the lake a few years back. As far as Green is concerned in that little area, its a good muskie fishing stretch.

Guys-
Looking for a little info on Shanty Hollow Lake. I fished it one time, years ago, and didn't get one hit (I was still fairly new to bass fishing). I have heard from other fisherman that they have some success there. Of course, they were a little shady on how they achieved that success.Any tips would be appreciated. Just finished re-finishing my new jon boat. Looks really good. Shanty Hollow is fairly close to the house and would like to be able to hit with the new boat. Thanks.
Also, right there near Shanty Hollow there is a lock on the Green River. Anybody fished it before? Any tips? Thanks.

Thanks. Sounds like it wouldn't be worth my time. I have heard of muskies in the Green River, didn't know if they were in that stretch or not. Have you heard about the bass fishing there? Thanks again.

I have fished between locks 5 & 6 off and on for years. I mainly put in at brownsville. There are good fish [bass included] in the river there. There is a store close to the river that at one time had alot of pic's of fish that were caught there. Be careful and good luck.
I think I know which store you are talking about. The one right on the corner where you turn in to go to Shanty Hollow? I've been in there before, getting some minnows and saw those pics. I'll have to give a try, I guess you never know unless you try. Thanks for the help.

My Friend/fishing partner was out at shanty a cpl days ago and caught a 14 inch 2lb crappie out of shanty using a crank bait by the submerged sticks that are in the middle of the lake closest to the ramp
There are actually two boat ramps on the green right close to Shanty Hollow. One is downstream of the dam and another just right upstream of it. I have never put in below the dam. My old boat is small but I still didn't think there was enough water to get it off the trailer and due to the way the ramp angles downstream it has a tendency to get choked with mud. The above the dam ramp is a good ramp with a parking area for about three rigs. There is a creek that enters the river directly across form the ramp that looks like a good place to try for muskies. I have ran a good ways up from the dam and nothing really caught my eye as far as good fishing cover.
