I think lugubrious will be a great description for people who voted for the POTUS as he continues to reveal his personal agenda on us all. They will understand that he lied worse than a rug on most of his campaign promises.... Good one Jim.
Yes, that is Cricket. She died of a heart attack, in my arms, last year; I posted her obituary on this board. The fish she is holding is a 2-1/2 pound catfish she caught all by herself. She and I were sitting in the boat parked at the bank in about 6 ft. of water. She was sitting on my lap, looking down into the water, when she jumped overboard and straight down. When she came up with the fish I've never been more surprised in my life. I yelled, "Good girl, bring it to mommie." She swam to shore and took off running with her prize and guarded it for hours. That was the ONLY fish we caught all day. lol I'm so glad we had a camera for that one.
She was a real "fisherdog" and loved riding in the boat. We like to tent camp on an island and Cricket loved it. One day my husband suddenly became very ill while we were camping; I helped him into the tent and told him to rest while I administered first aid. Cricket sensed that he was ill and kept running back and forth from his bed to the boat. I guess she was trying to get him to follow her so I could take him home. Finally she came into the tent, licked the side of his face and started howling. She ran out of the tent, hit the water and started swimming across the lake. It was at a very wide place and I saw that she was getting tired and didn't have the strength to swim back. I jumped into the boat and went to her and pulled her out of the water with a large dip net. That dog didn't stop howling until I got my husband in the car and started the engine. She had never done it before and never did it again. They say a dog can detect a different scent on humans when they are ill and that's the only reason I can think of that she would act like that. A few months later my husband had to have emergency heart surgery and we had no inkling that he was having problems. In looking back, maybe Cricket sensed it before we knew.
She was as fast as lightening and dug up moles, killed rats, snakes, lizards, and was fearless. She loved torturing turtles and absolutely hated cats; she kept a feral cat up a tree for hours at a time. She finally killed him the weekend before she died and was so proud of herself.
I am seriously thinking about getting me another Jack Russell puppy.
Did you see the picture on my personal profile page? That will warm your heart.

Bassin_bug: Thanks for the story about cricket. I'll look at your avatar with new meaning and understanding now.
Avatars are a strange thing. Some are meant to be funny. Some are a fish picture. Some are self pictures. Some are just ...........er strange.
I now know and will remember the story behind your avatar.
I been thinking about this and here are my thoughts. We can do one of two things. Accept his plea and execute him by a military tribunal. Or we can bring him to the murder scene and convict him and execute him. Either way he will pay for his crimes with his life. If we bring him to New York and have a trial I think alot will be learned about how information was extracted from him. In either case death is inevitable, but in this case we may learn more information than we thought possible about how the government got a confession. Even if he is acuited the military will issue the death penalty. This whole civilian trial deal is going to cause Mr. Obama a lot of trouble. No matter how much he tries to put the blame on Holder or the court system, it's coming to roost right on his doorstep.
All I know is if any of these clowns are acquitted I'll be among a whole lot of seriously pizzed off Americans. Even if there's no acquittals, if the lawyers get up there and put our soldiers and intelligence officers on trial a whole lot of us are gonna be plenty hot.
What planet are jurists that have never heard of 9/11 going to be found on? There are so many issues for defense lawyers this thing could drag on for years and cost us God knows how much money.
President Obama...er I mean AG Holder's decision to have civilian trials in NY for the terrorists is just plain stupid. Stupid and very unpopular.
Even Slippedcork PM'd me and Grumpy saying it was a bad move. Well not really, but I'm sure she will any time now.
Yeah but look how much money this is costing us? New York politicians (shumer I think) is asking for 75 million dollars. Wonder who is paying for that?
Aint gonna cost a shiny nickle DJ.Bush done seen to that. Got more borrowed that can ever be repaid. Dont scream obama either.
This mess was given to him and 75million is a drop in a small creek that dried up in yr 2000.
Your man asked for it and now he has got it. No one forced him to be POTUS so there is no need for the blame game. Man up! What Bush did or did not do is in the past and we can not change the past. We can make changes today to help or hurt us tomorrow.
Tsk tsk tsk why in the world is it ok? Just because another administration did it. Does anyone ever become responsible in your views?
Look it up Schumer is requesting 75 million for beefed up security. Whose fault is that?
You really stand by your statement that Bush borrowed more than can ever be repaid? I don't think you believe that....I hope you don't when facts are all over the place on what Barry and his cronies has spent and want to spend.
